According to Horticultural Secretary, Mike Ottewell arrangements are set to ensure this year’s Growers’ Section will be a success.
Judges have been appointed and the provisional schedule of exhibits has been drawn up.
There will be over 100 different categories for fruit, vegetables and flowers. Full details will be published shortly.
“We are planning to deliver a magnificent display of seasonal produce on Saturday 25 July, representing growers from throughout the Staffordshire Moorlands,” says Mike Ottewell.
“Besides the people power however, we do need to raise around £750 to cover our costs.
“These range from individual cash prizes, medals and refurbishing existing trophies for the winners. Additionally, we shall require printed materials and the marquee staging cost.
“Sponsors will be acknowledged on the website and as appropriate, for individual showcase categories. In addition to space to display a promotional poster, we shall be happy to discuss photo opportunities during the awards presentations.
“We are looking for entries from all age groups and levels of expertise, whether they be ardent allotment growers or simply newbies, taking up one of the show challenges such as, an unusual plant container or an innovative presentation.”
Exhibits will cover all the usual scope of show categories, from specific examples to tray presentations.
Please talk to Mike Ottewell for further information on sponsorship opportunities.
